Some features include both intraoral and extraoral dental X-Rays. Extraoral imaging (or extraoral radiography) is a method of obtaining high-quality x-rays of the teeth, bones and tissues of the skull and jaw. As its name suggests, this type of imaging takes place outside of the mouth. Extraoral radiography is ideal for use with patients who need large areas imaged or physically cannot open their mouths for intraoral imaging.
In general, extraoral radiography is most valuable for viewing the “big picture.” While this technology can provide images of large areas of the jaw or skull, it cannot produce the same level of detail as intraoral radiography and that is why we use both types.
Our operatories are private rooms that allow the door to be closed if necessary and we have chairs in them for parents to sit while the procedures are being completed.
Our open bay treatment/hygiene area encourages younger children to model the behavior of older children, and the open design also creates a sense of play and ease. The sterilization area is in plain view so you can trust that cleanliness is always a top priority.
Anxious children are comforted and guided through the dental visits by Dr. Bennett and her awesome staff that are well trained and experienced. They truly care and will go the extra mile to make every child feel special. All parents are encouraged to accompany their child throughout the dental experience, but also encourage independence when the child wants it. For patients with special needs, we are equipped to handle even the most difficult behavior issues.
We look forward to the opportunity to treat your child and address their dental needs. A child’s first dental visit is an important one and we strive to make every child comfortable and relaxed. We believe in making every child smile one at a time!
